A child-friendly space when families needed it most

More than 2,600 children accessed MHPSS activities in one month, with inclusive participation for children with vulnerabilities. In Leer County, a child-friendly space gave children aged 3–18 structured play, psychosocial support, and referral options—including many returnees arriving from Sudan.

Animators led indoor and outdoor activities—drawing, games, sports, and group sessions—so children could express feelings and rebuild resilience in a protected environment.

CFS teams identified protection concerns at the centre and coordinated referrals with health and protection actors where needed.

Attendance grew as returnee children arrived from Sudan; teams continued mobilizing vulnerable children and adapting activities during the rainy season.
