USAID Youth Empowerment Activity announced the enrollment of more than 720 participants.
Juba, South Sudan, MHA proudly announces the commencement of an extensive youth enrolment program in Duk and Uror counties in Jonglei State. This proactive initiative is funded by USAID and EDC, as the lead consortium is part of our ongoing commitment to empower young people and enhance creative thinking and job creation for youth across South Sudan.
This project is a response to the pressing need for youth development and empowerment in Jonglei State, where challenges such as limited education, unemployment, and access to job opportunities significantly impact the younger people. By fostering a supportive environment for youth, we aim to reduce poverty and generate long-term socio-economic benefits throughout the country. Enrolment centers are equipped with highly skilled trainers who will guide the youth through the duration of the programs, distribute informational materials, and provide on-the-spot assessments of individual needs and education level. The program is supported by local authorities and the community as it reflects a comprehensive approach to youth development.
‘’The future of the South in general and Jonglei State in particular lies in the hands of young people. This enrolment program is a critical step towards empowering them with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to shape a prosperous future for themselves and their communities,” said John Gatyiel, MHA’s executive director. This milestone initiative is a testament to our unwavering dedication to the youth of Jonglei State. Together, we can build a healthier, more educated, and empowered future.
“We are incredibly optimistic about the positive impact this initiative will have. By investing in our young people, we are investing in the bright and resilient future of Jonglei State,” stated the education senior director’s Nyan Mayak Deng.
