Protection
In conflict and disasters people have a wide range of urgent needs including basic necessities such as food and shelter, but also safety from the violence and abuse that is often common in such situations.
MHA’s protection work aims to improve the safety of civilians threatened with violence, coercion, and deliberate deprivation. The safety of conflict affected population is a priority for MHA and goes hand in hand with delivering other essentials services through coordination with other humanitarian partners.
Our approach draws on vast experience in working with community-based protection network, we develop a practical and tangible actions that reduce people’s vulnerability to violence and abuse, and help them cope with its impact when it occur.
Our field protection work has been building up a body of activities and projects specifically to improve safety of civilians through safe programming, which ensures that our humanitarian activities do not inadvertently create greater risk to those we are trying to reach.
Routine protection monitoring to identify the key protection risk including human Right violation, therefore, develop a strategy to prevent or mitigation measures to minimize their impact on the civilian.
We strengthen and support the community-based protection network members and we trained them on basic human right such that they are able to claim their rights and address their protection needs.
We provide individuals and targeting assistance to most vulnerable individuals identified during protection monitoring including referral of beneficiaries to other services providers to access other services which are not available at MHA.
